Art Project for Kids: Fernando Botero Sculptures

Fernando Botero is a Colombian artist, his work is well known around the world for his chubby and rounded figures. For our art project today, we will be making sculptures, and we will get our inspiration in Fernando Botero’s animal sculptures.

Art History for Kids: Animals in Art

Materials:

  • News paper
  • Cotton fabric
  • Flour
  • Water
  • White glue
  • Ballons
  • Cardboard
  • Tape
  • Googly eyes

We choose an animal for the sculpture, we will use paper mache
We will cover the animal with pieces of fabric dipped in white glue
We need to cover every piece of the sculpture with the fabric

we need to apply at least two layers of fabric maché

add horns, teeth and claws
apply whit acrylic paint
