The History of Collage is almost as old as paper. But for hundreds of years it was not considered an art technique. It was used for decoration or to make crafts. During the 20th century the cubist painters Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso, rediscovered the process and used it for their artwork.

This technique is great for children, they enjoy the whole process, from collecting the materials, all the way to assemble them.

Making a collage during the long summer months, on a rainy day, or when they are tired or sick, can turn their day around. Kids are creative by nature, and most materials are easily found at home. To learn about other collage projects, click in the image bellow.
